Back from Brasil
Well, well, well…seventeen days in South America, what a way to warm up for the European tour in November. F1 Weekend in Sao Paulo, what more do you need?!?! Ok, maybe you need another bottle of cachaça.
After a three hour delay in Santiago, I finally arrived in Sao Paulo around two in the morning on Friday. I rested up that evening and after a rainy day of practice, the Miami and NYC crew took over Pink Elephant as DJ Vitale shut the place down.
Chovendo, chovendo, chovendo was the story of Saturday. All of the rain led to the longest qualifying session in history, almost three hours. Confident that Sunday would be a busy day, I decided to retire early, especially since I would lose the second hour in consecutive weeks as the clocks were springing forward once again.
Sunday quickly awoke, and I caught a ride with friend and Force India driver to watch out for, Tonio Liuzzi. The samba drums and chants pulsed in true Brasilian fashion as we arrived at Interlagos. The beautiful energy was accented by the first sunny day, and the race was quite exciting as fights, crashes, pit lane fires, and championship battles all took place. By the final lap, Jensen Button clinched the World Championship, and both Rubinho and Sebastian Vettel saw there title hopes fade. Congrats to Mark Webber for the victory, and Abu Dhabi will be for fun and bragging rights only.
In true Red Bull fashion, “We couldn’t leave Brasil without partying!”, so that is indeed what we did til early morning at Mokai. Good times and music, throughout the night, as I roked alongside Mario Fischetti. Mario jammed out, and if you ever find him playing near you, don’t miss it!
Although I was tempted on my stop over, with a cold Quilmes in hand, to stay in Buenos Aires a few days, I had to return to Miami. It is time to sort a few things before leaving again Tuesday for over thirty days, and of course rok out at the W Living Room and the Viceroy this weekend. Stay posted for November’s details!!!
