Frankfurt, Paris, Barca…
Sooooo, where did I leave off? I think it was Friday night, and we were about to head to Cocoon Club to check out Richie Hawtin. Well, we did, but not without stopping to check out Julian Smith’s party first. It was a nice little warm-up party…you can get his latest live mix here. As expected, Richie Hawtin blew the place up, and the club was still going strong as I grabbed some currywurst on the way out some time after 5a. By the way, when are we going to get a David’s Cafe inside of a Miami club?
As Saturday began to slowly get into motion, we made it to the Frankfurt game, and unfortunately the club didn’t gain a new fan. Both teams, Frankfurt and Dortmund, played miserably, as Dortmund ended up on top 2-0. I think I might have to throw on a Hamburg or Bayern jersey from now on. Saturday evening approached quickly, and we headed over to Micro for dinner, then made our way to rok out at APT. I had a blast, and even made it back over to Cocoon Club to jam out a bit with DJ Katch at his Delorean party. I even jumped back on the decks, and we played well past 6a!!!
Sunday was another one of those good morning/afternoon type of days, and was definitely a rest day. Some of the Miami crew headed back over to the white sand and blue water, while the rest of us laid low for most of the day. Good thing, because I had to jump on the ICE to Paris quite early the next morning.
After getting a little work done on the train, I transferred over to Gare du Nord to wait for my friend Adam’s Eurostar arriving from London. Adam has a great blog with all the F1 gossip and happenings…be sure to check it out! Only getting to spend a couple of days in Paris wasn’t the ideal timetable, but I took advantage of the opportunity, and conquered the key sights in day. As Wednesday arrived, it was time to pack up once again, and head off to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix.
Now, I love Barcelona, but clearly Barça didn’t reflect the same energy back towards me this visit. Unfortunately, my luggage decided two days in Paris wasn’t enough. Oh well, I wasn’t about to let this inconvenience dampen the vibrant energy this city has to offer. Exiting the metro to the beautiful sight of Gaudí’s Casa Batlló quickly eased my headache. Additionally, Andrés Iniesta had a magnificent goal in stoppage time to spring the Blaugrana into the Champion’s League final against Manchester United. Consequently, the streets of Barcelona were a alive! After a trip to the Diagonal Mar Centre for some essentials, I strolled down to the Olympic Port, enjoyed the Spanish sun
Early this morning, yes very early this morning….6a early this morning, still luggage-less, it’s time to meet up with the Red Bull Racing crew and head to Circuit de Catalunya for some GP action!!! More to come…
